February Meeting: Women in 18th Century Elections in Northampton

The next lecture will take place on Thursday 14th February at The University of Northampton. Our speaker will be our own secretary Dr Zoe Dyndor, discussing “Widows, Wives and Witnesses: Women in 18th Century Elections in Northampton”. This talk expands on her 2011 article published in ‘Parliamentary History’ and will examine how all women – from the elite Lady Spencer to the poor Widow Dean – were able to participate in, and influence, parliamentary elections.  We look forward to seeing you there.
